We first introduced the idea to clients of using the Google Trends data source a couple of years ago and we’ve been continually impressed with how useful it can be. We've spoken with a number of brands recently who have started to use the Google Trends data source as a default data source for their work and we wanted to share the idea with a wider audience.
In this white paper, we explain what Google Trends is, how it works and how you can extract the data in order to most usefully analyse it. We also outline some real world marketing analysis questions and explain how they can be answered in part through this data.
